Why 6.8: Dealer markups made it a speculation target for a year; then the flippers left and the drivers stayed. Manual-only, tracked often, and daily-driven — the hot-hatch brief, delivered.

Sound

The triple-pipe exhaust with its centre resonator is a real engineering answer to the previous car's drone, and it stays clean and honest at the top. But it is a turbocharged two-litre limited to 7,000 with Active Sound Control filling the cabin, so the VTEC drama is gone.

Rear seatsStandard

Honda's European press materials for this Civic generation state the rear ISOFIX points "ensure secure and correct installation and mounting of child seats"; in the US, IIHS gives the 2022-26 Civic (hatchback ratings included) a "Good" LATCH ease-of-use rating with two complete rear LATCH positions.

Front passenger seatNot available

No front-seat ISOFIX, consistent with every generation — Honda's own marketing language for this generation only ever describes rear ISOFIX.

The long version

The first wave of buyers paid a premium just to skip the waitlist, and plenty of those cars turned over within a year once the dealer-markup money dried up, visible in a value chart already down almost 20 percent from launch, a normal-car curve rather than a collectible one. What is left is a fairly settled ownership base: people who wanted a manual hatchback that tracks well on a Saturday and survives a commute the other six days. Endangered Stick is the operative badge; Honda keeps a manual around here specifically for buyers who will use it, and they do use it.
