Why 4.5: A military ladder frame in a Monaco parking spot. Waiting lists, sticker premiums and matte wraps — the purest trophy in the index, SUV or otherwise.

Sound

The side-exit pipes give the G 63 something no other turbocharged AMG has, an unfiltered bark right beside the sill at idle. It is still a hot-vee twin-turbo 4.0 with the induction bottled up and only 6,500 rpm to use, so it is volume rather than range.

The long version

A four-decade-old military platform has spent the last ten years appreciating like a scarce collectible instead of aging like the truck it started as, and that alone tells you the buyer is not shopping on merit; waiting lists and dealer markups did more to shape demand than anything the chassis does on the road. Values have actually gained ground since 2019, unusual for anything with this many miles on the clock, because turnover among status buyers keeps supply artificially tight. Valet Royalty is less a badge than a job description here: arrives at the restaurant, gets photographed, leaves. Nothing about the ownership pattern argues otherwise.
