The long version

Never officially sold in the US, so what interest exists here is mostly aspirational — the real Trophy population lives in the UK, where five hundred cars have spent two decades getting genuinely worn out by owners who bought them specifically for the Sachs dampers and the steering feel, not to look at. Prices only started moving in the last few years, and the paddock crowd has not yet ceded ground to the collector crowd the way older hot hatches have. It is aging into classic status while still doing the job it was built for, a rarer combination than the badges here usually describe.
