The long version
AMG built the GT to be more usable than the SLS without surrendering the front-mid-engine theatre, and the base car is where that compromise lands cleanest. It has the transaxle layout, the hand-built V8 and the seating position without the GT R's track-car price story. Values softened enough that second owners can drive them, yet low-mile garage examples still appear because the shape has modern AMG halo-car gravity.
