The M139 is a fine two-litre and the electrified turbocharger keeps it responsive low down, so it is never coarse. But four cylinders under a GT bonnet sound thin however they are tuned, and Mercedes fills the gap through the speakers rather than the exhaust.

The front passenger seat gets a top-tether anchor point only — no lower ISOFIX/LATCH connectors, so a forward-facing seat can be belted and tethered there but not rigidly latched in.

Order sheets on this one skew toward buyers who wanted the GT silhouette in the driveway and did not cross-shop the spec plate too closely, a four-cylinder under a body designed to advertise a V8. The value curve backs that up: it has shed almost a quarter of sticker in two model years, the kind of drop that happens when a resale market realizes the badge was doing most of the selling.
