BMW i4 M50
Why 7.3: Genuinely quick, dailyed constantly, involving never. The M badge writes checks the silence can't cash — but as transport it's excellent, which is rather the point.

Sound
Hans Zimmer composed the IconicSounds Electric swell, and it at least rises with the accelerator rather than impersonating a combustion engine. But it is a soundtrack played over a silent motor, and less convincing than Porsche's. Effectively nothing to rate.

The long version
The buyer here is usually cross-shopping a Model 3 or a 3 Series and wants the M badge as reassurance that going electric doesn't mean giving up the brand identity — a purchase decision made almost entirely around the commute, not the canyon. It gets plugged in overnight and driven to work every day, which is exactly what the high daily-use number says, and exactly why the driving experience rarely gets asked to do anything more interesting than merge. Resale has been rough, steeper than the badge alone would predict, suggesting the market already prices it as a very good EV rather than a genuine M car.
