Bertone built the shortest wheelbase Lancia could get away with and dropped in a Dino-derived V6 built for a completely different car, and the shape only exists because Lancia needed 500 road cars to homologate a purpose-built rally weapon. That heritage shows every time it's driven: short, light, and nervous at the limit. Auction results have run past the million-dollar mark for the best examples in recent years, which has pulled most surviving cars out of daily use and into the hillclimb-and-concours circuit exclusively. It wears Homologation Hero honestly, and Forbidden Fruit too — Lancia never sold a single one new in America.
