Why 2.3: The track-tuned Chiron — shorter gearing, a fixed rear wing, more downforce than the standard car carries — but the ownership pattern doesn't move with the chassis. Same allocation game, same collector-first buyer pool, same cars that spend most of their lives in climate-controlled storage between factory events.

Sound

Sixteen cylinders and four turbochargers make a sound nothing else does — a deep mechanical churn under a wall of induction and wastegate noise, with the Pur Sport's titanium exhaust letting more out. But at 6,700 rpm and behind that much boost it moves air rather than sings.

Rear seatsNot available

There aren't any — strict two-seater.

Front passenger seatVaries

The only position there is, so makers of this era equip it: expect a passenger-airbag cut-off (key switch or occupant sensing) as standard, because there is no rear row to point children to. Whether the seat itself carries ISOFIX anchors is maker-specific — Porsche bundles them with its child-seat preparation, Ferrari sold them as an option, others are belt-mount only with the airbag off.

Derived from production years and seating layout, not a per-car source. ISOFIX was standardised as ISO 13216 in 1997, required on new EU model types from 2011 and on all new EU cars from 2014.

The long version

Pur Sport buyers overlap almost entirely with base Chiron buyers: existing Bugatti relationship holders offered a harder-edged variant as a loyalty perk, not a fresh audience of track-day drivers discovering the brand. The car is measurably more engaging than the standard Chiron — the shorter final drive and fixed wing were real engineering decisions aimed at corners rather than top speed — but engagement was never the bottleneck on Chiron ownership. Allocation scarcity means a meaningful share trade hands before delivery, at a premium, without the buyer ever driving the car. What track time it does see clusters around Bugatti-organized events, not owner-initiated trackdays.
