Renault Mégane RS 275 Trophy
Why 7.8: The Trophy tune Renault Sport sold to everyone, not just the 250 lucky Trophy-R buyers — same 2.0 turbo four with 10 more horsepower and a stiffer Cup chassis, none of the Ring-record price tag. It never crossed the Atlantic, so American interest is entirely aspirational.

Sound
The Trophy's factory Akrapovic system cracks on the overrun and gives the 2.0 F4Rt more voice than any other Megane RS. But it is boost and titanium doing the work rather than the engine, and 6,500 rpm ends it early. Exhaust theatre, a rung below the Abarth's.

Child seats · ISOFIX
ISOFIX anchorages in the rear are standard across the Mégane III range, including this later RS facelift.
Euro NCAP's Mégane III report describes ISOFIX only at the rear outboard seats; the front passenger position isn't equipped, though the airbag can be disabled for a belted rearward-facing restraint.
Sourced from the Mégane III's 2008 launch-year Euro NCAP test; the 275 Trophy (2014-2016) is a late-cycle facelift of the same generation, not independently retested.

The long version
Renault Sport took the Trophy-R's headline-grabbing Nürburgring record and sold a tamer, cheaper version of the same idea to everyone else: the same 2.0 turbo four tuned to 275 PS, the same Cup chassis, none of the stripped interior or the 250-unit waiting list. It launched at a meaningful premium over the standard 265 Cup, and depreciation followed the usual hot-hatch script for the first several years before flattening out as the whole 275/Trophy-R family started aging into modern-classic conversations together. It never sold in the US — Renault left the American market decades before this existed — so what enthusiasm exists here is entirely import-forum and YouTube-derived. The buyers who own one tend to know exactly what the Trophy-R did and bought the closest thing to it they could actually afford.
