Why 6.0: DougScore rates it a 58 — genuine GT credentials from a Ferrari-assembled V8, docked by a used market that prices the trident before the engine. Values have fallen harder than most rivals in this class, which only deepens the pool of buyers who wanted the engine, not the crest.

The long version

Maserati sourced this V8 from Ferrari's Maranello line before it built the Nettuno in-house for the MC20, and period reviewers rated the chassis and soundtrack as genuinely competitive with GTs costing twice the sticker. None of that engineering pedigree has protected resale — this generation has lost roughly two-thirds of its original price, a steeper curve than most six-figure GTs manage even in a bad decade. That collapse built the ownership base that exists today: buyers who wanted a Ferrari-built V8 at a price close to a used 3-series, fully aware of what the badge costs them at trade-in. It's the same tax the MC20 pays now, just already baked into this car's number.
