Lamborghini Huracán Performante, three-quarter front view

Lamborghini Huracán Performante

2017–2019 · 5.2L NA V10, 631 hp · DCT · AWD
4.3 / 10
Involvement 8.4 / 10

Why 4.3: ALA aero, a sharper chassis and the best version of the V10 make it the driver's Huracán. It is still a Lamborghini, so mileage sensitivity never disappears, but more owners use these than the V12 cars.

Sound

The 5.2 V10 revs to 8,500 with no turbos, and the Performante's lightweight exhaust exits high and short, so it is harder-edged than any other Huracán. It gives up a little richness to the big V12s, which is all that keeps it off the very top.

Shares the standard Huracán's ISOFIX-equipped passenger seat and weight-sensing airbag — the Performante's changes are aero and chassis, not the safety cabin.

The long version

The Performante was the point where the Huracán stopped being merely the small Lamborghini and became the sharp one. Active aero gave it a Nürburgring headline, the V10 stayed naturally aspirated, and the chassis finally felt awake enough for owners to justify track days. Values held better than ordinary Huracáns because the market agrees it is the one to have, but that has not frozen them completely. Compared with an SVJ, it is more approachable, more usable and less likely to be treated as an end-of-era museum piece. DougScore 70 fits a car that is genuinely excellent and still at least partially driven.
