The long version

Owners bought the R8 because it does everyday-supercar things — starts every time, has a real trunk, no drama — but wanting to drive it daily and actually driving it daily turned out to be different sentences, and most examples spend more time waiting for a nice Sunday than covering commute miles. Manual cars, rarer, get pulled out with more intent than the automatics, which mostly do the special-occasion loop. Production ended in 2023 and prices have been climbing back toward MSRP since, the surest sign yet that buyers are starting to protect the car rather than just use it less.
